VILAS Vision Leadership Program

The VILAS Vision Leadership Program is a program for residents of Vilas County offered by UW-Extension through its Lac du Flambeau and Vilas County program offices.

The purpose of the program is to help citizens of the county:

  • Enhance, develop and practice leadership skills
  • Identify and explore community issues and challenges
  • Promote an appreciation and awareness of Vilas County’s resources, institutions, cultures and concerns
  • Expand business and community networks
  • Encourage involvement in leadership roles at work and in the community

Each year, a new class of participants meets the first Wednesday of each month from December to June. Participants must commit to attending all 7 sessions. The first six sessions are day-long sessions with a dual focus: an examination of issues facing the county and development of leadership skills. The seventh session (June) is a late afternoon-evening evaluation and celebration session. All participants will work in teams on community service projects.

Please contact the UW-Extension office at 715-479-3648 for up-to-date information on the program.

Words can inspire, support, challenge, direct our next steps, and chart the way to new possibilities for the future. Leaders are the people who change words into action. Leaders create the inspiration, bring people together, and set the direction that leads to a better future.
