The CRD agent provides educational programming to governmental, civic and business organizations in Vilas County. These programs help develop community resources, leadership, and organizational infrastructure toward enhancing the area’s socio-economic capacity. Kelly uses University-based research to design and deliver programs on community and economic development, leadership, and business development. Brian works with the Lac du Flambeau Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa in Vilas County. His office is located in Lac du Flambeau. Brian’s programs focus on intergovernmental/tribal cooperation, downtown revitalization and community development, planning, communications for the tribal council and tribal agencies, lakes and water quality, and outdoor recreation. He has produced a UW-Extension videotape on “Ancient Ways, Modern People” as a way to educate people on the myths and misconceptions about the Lac du Flambeau tribe.
